From time to time, Southwest Airlines sends promo e-mails to their customers with a code for free bonus miles (usually around 1,000 free miles). To enter a Southwest Bonus Miles promo code for free miles, customers will need to login to their Southwest account. Bonus Southwest miles offers are only sent to current Southwest customers, so there is no need to create a new Southwest Bonus Miles account. Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers can redeem their Rapid Rewards points for hotel stays, rental cars, gift cards, event tickets, merchandise and other experiences that can’t be purchased anywhere else. Points from Southwest can not be used to pay for other Southwest charges (like pets, extra bag, Unaccompanied Minors, security fees, or cashless cabin purchases).

To find out how many miles it would take to get a free flight from Southwest, customers just need to use the “Destination Finder” link on the Southwest web site and click the link for “redeem miles for ticket.” Special fares, such as senior, infant, child, military, and government fares are not eligible to be purchased with points. Southwest reward travel is subject to taxes, fees, and other government or airport-imposed charges of at least $5.60 per one-way trip.
